Get your Glow On

Skin feeling dry or delicate? Our favourite beauties over at Brooklyn Beauty Bar wrote us a little something to make sure you keep skin, smooth, glowing and healthy, all year round.

These nitty-gritty secrets were originally published in Style Magazines, but we think they’re important enough to be posted again!

Many exfoliants contain broken almond shells and even crushed pebbles, these not only remove the dead skin cells, but also the live skin cells. These might be ok for your feet, but not for your face! You need an exfoliant which is not so nitty-gritty – preferably jojoba based with wax beads. We love the Dr Spiller Jojoba Peeling Crème, it is so gentle you can use it almost every day. Not only does it hydrate as it exfoliates, it also defuses redness.

As a general rule, exfoliating every three days or so is sufficient.  This schedule will allow enough time in-between treatments to allow your acid mantle to naturally reform itself.

If you are suffering from acne or breakouts please only ever exfoliate around the lesion or problem areas or acne, not over the top, as this will prevent further spreading of bacteria and allow the breakout to heal quickly.

Once a month, treat your skin to a natural herbal peel. Our Mini Herbal Peel contains over 250 traces of natural herbs and minerals. The treatment is priced well and only takes 45 minutes to leave your skin with a natural glow.

It’s time to shine, beauties.
