The Ultimate Guide to Al Fresco Dining

We can all agree that there is something special when dining out in the fresh air when the sun is shining. Here are our favourite places to do just that at The Barracks.

Live it up at The Bavarian while you sit back and enjoy a casual bite under the beautiful, leafy canopy out in the glorious beer garden. The family-friendly restaurant showcases classic dishes such as deliciously warm, fresh-baked pretzels, roast pork belly, huge pork knuckles and schnitzels. And we’ll let you in on a secret, nowhere else in Australia are seven styles of imported German beers found on tap and served in a stein, under one roof. Speaking of, if you haven’t already, get in before the end of October to raise a stein and celebrate Oktoberfest.

Libertine is the French-Viet fusion restaurant and bar where you want to be on a warm Spring evening. Come and enjoy delicious banquet dishes and enjoy the sensational alfresco dining out in the courtyard while you sip glasses of Veuve Cliquot. A must-try is dish their incredibly innovative Tiger Prawn Croissant featuring shark bay tiger prawns, citrus mayonnaise, cornichons and fresh herbs on a mini baked butter croissant. Whether you’re planning a date night or a catch up with your friends, it’s the perfect venue to shakes things up.

Hostess with the Mostess

Bring a slice of al fresco to your own home and host sensational sunset drinks outdoors with your nearest and dearest. We love to prioritise what the food menu looks like when hosting, but remember, even if you’re not a mixologist, you can make an evening extra special by elevating it with tasty, refreshing drinks.
