Staycation: Holidaying at Home This Mother’s Day.

While the world is opening up, Europe might not be on the cards for Mum this weekend. This Mother’s Day, it’s our duty to make Mum feel like she’s on holiday, right here in Brisbane!

The good news is there’s no need to deal with passports, visas or airport transfers – only the fun stuff here.

Jessica James knows how to celebrate Mother’s Day. The first three clients to book their Mum for a hair appointment on 6th May will receive a 500ml hairspray, a huge bonus as Mum can use all the support they can get!

As an added surprise, anyone who books their Mum in on 6th May will go into the draw to win a prize pack valued at $165. Check out their website for more information and their T&Cs.

Getting pampered is really a right for Mum on Mother’s Day. A luxurious manicure at Gold Class Nails always offers gold class service and it’ll be hard to pass up the complimentary drink. Whether she’ll opt for funky coloured french tips or soft swirls, having fresh nails will set the mood for a celebration.

Now that Mum is looking and feeling a million dollars, it’s time to get out and explore!

The 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art exhibition has been extended at the Queensland Art Gallery Of Modern Art (QAGOMA). It includes 69 projects by over 130 individuals from 30 countries. Featuring both emerging and established artists, the works of art are a mix of mediums and techniques, from immersive multimedia artworks to sculptures, paintings and textiles. This exhibit will transport Mum into another world and immerse her in different cultures, one piece of art at a time.

After a day out, what could be better than to sip on a glass of sparkling at Palace Cinemas. We suggest a viewing of  Petite Maman, a coming of age story by the French filmmaker Céline Sciamma. This story is one of childhood grief, memory and connection that is heartbreakingly hopeful.

To make your Mum feel like a Queen, there’s no need to visit Buckingham Palace. Simply go to Pilgrim by Fogata for dinner! For $65pp, enjoy an incredible six-course shared banquet with bottomless mimosas. With a modern take on traditional Latin-American food, the entire family can enjoy the flavours and the ambience that Pilgrim offers.

Tasting around the world is made easy with Libertine’s French-Vietnamese fusion. All dishes have been crafted to perfection with eclectic combinations, such as Tiger Prawn Croissants. Let Mum live like a Libertine with this six-course banquet for $69pp.

When her trip comes to an end & she is ready to head home and unpack, here’s how to finish with a bang!

There’s no greater feeling than walking through arrivals and seeing your loved one there with a bunch of flowers. Bring Mum’s fantastic day to a close with a bunch of native Australian flora. My Little Flower Shoppe not only does flowers, but they also do cupcakes, candles and other gifts, making it a complete one-stop shop.
